"I wouldn't vote for that Bitch or Nigger if you paid me"

"I wouldn't vote for that bitch or nigger if you paid me...I'm a McCain man"

I just got that response from a voter in Oregon two minutes ago.

Seriously...whoever is the nominee deserves our full support!

This is about something much bigger than I think we realize now...

Back to the phones for me...

Indeed. Head over to Free Republic, Little Green Footballs, etc, and look at the esteem they hold either of our candidates in, and then tell me you'd really be on their side if your candidate of choice loses.

Kudos to you, LD.

Exactly. In our zeal to see our preferred (2.00 / 4)

candidate win the nomination, we can't lose sight of who the enemy really is. There is so little that separates us, and it is so painful to see us warring with one another. McCain is the f*** enemy. We can't forget that.

Re: Not to be a smartass (2.00 / 2)

Actually, I expressed negativity for a Presidential candidate when called  several months ago.  When the caller said he "begged to differ", I hung up.  Don't wish to spend the time and energy discussing with someone I don't know or care about re decisions I have already made.  After all, the caller is an uninvited guest and not on my agenda.

I know these calls are important, and of value to the campaigns, but as one who informs herself quite well on the political scene, I dislike being interrupted in my routine to give time to this type of discourse.

With the GOP troll diaries slamming Obama popping up, I think its an excellent reminder to those Democrats who would be tempted to rec them - or worse, to vote for McCain if Clinton doesn't get the nomination.

However, one time I did get a Paultard, he tried to lecture me about 'liberty' and the rEVOLution.  I told him that I like the department of Education (they subsidize part of my med school loans after all) and that is was too inconsistant.  Before hanging up he called both our candidates puppets of the CFR...

Good story, but in all fairness to McCain (2.00 / 1)

this "gentleman" was hardly representative.  You could probably run across a few Democrats while phone banking that might say similar (if more euphemistic) things about one or the other of our candidates.

We CANNOT support the GOP, either passively or proactively, with our vote or by withholding it.  It will validate the last 8 years of hell under the Bush/Rove regime - war, abuse of judicial power, torture (need I go further?), etc. - and that would be disastrous.

Let's finish our primary strong and in support of our respective candidate.  Once decided, let's get ready to put a Dem in office this fall!

Politics of fear!

Obama supporters trying to bully and scare us Hillary supporters into voting for Obama in November.

Just remember, at least 35% of Clinton supporters simply will NOT vote for Obama.

It's not his race, it's his horrible personality.

Of course, if we don't knuckle under we are racists and anti-choice and disloyal Democrats.  All that from kids voting for the first time in their lives.

I've been a loyal Democrat for 36 years.  Now I will vote against a Democrat for the first time in my life.

I don't like Obama.  I don't like his smarmy attitude and I can't stand his idiotic internet supporters.  50% of whom are barely old enough to vote and the other 50% are former Nader voters and disgruntled Republicans.  Fake Democrats.

You can't bully me.  You can't scare me.  I simply do not like Obama.  That's it.  Done!

My vote is my vote to cast in any way I please for whatever reason I choose.

Do you think you can demand how 100 million + cast their votes?  Do you think you control me?

That is the whole problem... that is why Obama will lose.

I have been voting for president for 36 years.  For state and local issues for 38 years.  I have voted for losers many, many times.  I will not vote for another loser.

Re: "I wouldn't (2.00 / 1)

I supported Edwards initially, but Hillary's "endorsement" of Obama won't affect my vote any more than Edwards endorsement of Obama.

Frankly, Edwards was also too inexperienced to be President, as is Obama, even though I "liked" Edwards.  But the endorsements are just politics. I ignore them.

Obviously. You can also vote for McCain because you decided to vote for people whose last name begins with "M". It's within your rights.

You just can't expect people to respect that reasoning.

"That is the whole problem... that is why Obama will lose."

He's been winning so far.

"I will not vote for another loser."

Now, you're changing your reasoning for your vote. Before wasn't it that you didn't like his personality?

Yeah, all the Obama supporters are a bunch of young hippies or Black people. Like Senator Byrd that young whipper snapper and fake Democrat, or John Edwards, Claire McCaskill, Sam Nunn, Teddy Kennedy.

Obama is pulling ahead among all groups:

Vote for whomever you like but don't project your sour grapes onto other voters. A month from now 99% of voters will have forgotten the primary and aren't going to be concerned which millionaire politicians didn't make the cut. They will be worried about their own futures and whether the Republican candidate promising a 3rd Bush term or the Democrat with the Democratic agenda will better serve their needs. After 8 years of Republican mismanagement for a majority of voters it will be a no brainer.
